The Sleight of Hand Series takes traditional timpani mallet construction and rethinks one of its most familiar components. Traditional wood, cork, and compressed hard felt cores are paired with something entirely different: 100% synthetic wraps. Polyester, nylon, and acrylic fibers are woven into carefully selected sherpa and fleece fabrics to create wraps that are remarkably durable and consistent from pair to pair. Unlike traditional German or American felt, these synthetic fibers don't need to be voiced, won't break down from the dirt and oils transferred from your hands and drums, and can withstand years of regular playing before needing to be replaced. And when they finally do need to be rewrapped? We'll do it for free. Of course, durability doesn't mean much if they don't sound good. Each model in the Sleight of Hand Series was designed first and foremost to sound great on the drums, with a range of articulations suited to everything from delicate playing to passages that need clarity and presence. Standard models feature 15" tapered woven carbon fiber handles, offering excellent balance and consistency with a high-gloss finish for a secure feel in the hands—even when things get sweaty. Prefer bamboo? Sleight of Hand models are also available with hand-selected bamboo handles. Each pair is pitch-matched and weight-matched to the gram, then fully finished and sealed for a smooth, satiny feel.
