The Alps Eco Liner was thoughtfully engineered to meet the demands of today's moderate to high activity prosthetic users. The Eco Liner was aptly named due to its environmentally friendly seamless outer fabric knitting process that requires less energy. Alps' team evaluated each requirement and formulated this Alps liner with their HD Gel Formula. HD Gel lessens the vertical and shear stresses your residual limb experiences while walking due to its firmer nature. The unique bottom configuration lessens gel stretch, thereby reducing distraction or pulling on your limb. Firmer HD Gel permits greater control of your prosthesis while protecting your limb from the stressor of wearing and walking with a prosthesis. Eco Liner sizing is available for both BK and AK limb loss, in two different uniform thicknesses, 3mm and 6mm. Options also include either cushion or locking (pin lock.) Read our Prosthetic Liner Guide for more information on prosthetic liners. Materials Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE), ALPS HD Gel formula is firmer and less tacky than the ALPS Grip Gel. Directions for Use Prior to applying your Alps Eco Liner make sure your residual limb is clean, dry, and free of any soap residue. Cover any open wounds and non-intact skin with a product similar to Spenco . Alps states to avoid using any type of animal based lotions or powders on your residual limb or liner. These products may damage your Alps Liner. Invert your Alps Eco Line r so that the logo is on the inside. Place the end of your liner against the end of your limb. If using a pin lock liner, center the pin attachment on the bottom of your limb. Carefully roll your liner onto your limb. ***Warning: Do not pull your liner onto your limb. Pulling the liner may stretch the skin and result in an uncomfortable fit and possible skin issues along the edge of your liner. Last, make sure that there are no wrinkles or air pockets between the liner and your limb. Air pockets cause excessive sweating. Care Instructions Proper hygiene is critical when wearing any prosthetic liner. Your Alps Eco Liner must be thoroughly cleaned each day and disinfected once a week. Clean the gel side of your Eco Liner using lukewarm water and a pH balanced prosthetic cleanser . Apply your prosthetic cleanser with a clean, soft cloth or sponge. **Warning: Do not scrub your liner on either the fabric or gel sides. Rinse the Alps HD Gel with water and dry it with a clean and lint-free cloth. Place your Eco Liner on a drying stand with the logo on the outside. Once a week spray the gel side of your liner with ethyl alcohol spray and wipe clean with a lint-free soft cloth. Last, rinse any alcohol from your liner with water and dry again using the above instructions. Precautions Do not place your Alps Eco Liner on an open wound. If irritation, discomfort or poor circulation occurs, discontinue use and notify your physician or Prosthetist immediately. Do not wear an Eco Liner for more than 20 hours daily. This Alps Eco Liner Liner is not indicated for any amputee who has a skin condition which can be aggravated when covered by a non-porous gel material. Above Knee users should not wear a locking prosthetic liner if your residual limb is shorter than 3 inches, unless a secondary AK Belt is used.
